Adding an Email Address Link

Updated: Jan 26, 2021

Email address links (mailto link) within your enrollment marketing email messages can be a subtle, but an effective call to action. Used in the Message Editor (or within Content Tags), email addresses may be linked to “pop-out” of your message and include a subject line.

Any text within your email message may be linked to a response email message. For example:

To learn more …

dean@anwhereuniversity.edu

Contact the financial aid office

Here’s how to get started.

In your email message, highlight the text you want to use for a mailto link.

Click Insert/Edit Link. In the pop-up window, go to Link URL, and enter mailto: followed by the contact email address you want to use.

Example

mailto:financialaid@anwhereuniversity.edu

Next, add a subject line to the email to alert the recipient.

Example

mailto:financialaid@anwhereuniversity.edu?subject<YOUR SUBJECT LINE>

Finally, click Insert.

These are small details that bring a level of professionalism to your email messages.
